Day 1 - Johannesburg Arrival at JHB where you stay in a 5 star luxury hotel for the night. During the day ample time to visit the town for early arrivals or to relax and enjoy an optional massage. Dinner in the Blue Hippo Restaurant. Day 2 -JHB – Khama Rhino Sanctuary You’ll have an early start driving to the Botswana border in a comfortable minibus. After lunch and a short briefing by your Botswana guide we head for Khama Rhino Sanctuary in our game-viewing vehicle to where camp has been set up. We make a sundowner trip and with a bit of luck meet the first rhinos and you will have the time to shower and relax with a drink before dinner is served. During dinner you’ll have a complete explanation by your guide about the rest of the tour and you can ask all you want to know about the country and its people. Day 3 -Nxai Pan We make a morning drive in the pan and then head West to the Nxai Pan National Park where we can meet the Kalahari species: black maned lions, suricate, honey badger, springbok, oryx,… We visit the famous Baines Baobabs, a natural cathedral at the edge of a large saltpan. Dinner at the campfire. Day 4 - Nxai Pan – Makgadigadi NP The early mornings and late afternoon are set aside for game viewing in the Park which is well known for its lion prides feeding around the waterholes. We follow the Boteti river where we find a huge concentration of game. Day 5 - Maun - guesthouse We leave after a last short game-drive and arrive for lunch in Maun, the gateway to the Okavango delta. For those who want, a flight over the Okavango Delta can be organized at own expense. Time to relax and shower before dinner, beautiful views over the river. Day 6, 7 & 8 - Moremi Game Reserve We rise early and after coffee/tea and a healthy snack we board our game viewing vehicle. An extensive lunch is served en route or in camp. Early mornings and late afternoons are set aside for game viewing until sunset, A game drive takes us to the Khwai river, famous for its big concentration of game. After dinners are served, there is time to chat and relax around the campfire. During our stay we make a daytrip to the Xakanaxa area of Moremi which gives an idea how the centre of the delta looks like and we make a night drive along the Khwai learning us about the nocturnal wildlife. Day 9 - Chobe National Park Savuti area. An interesting game drive takes us away of Moremi, traveling north via the Mababe Depression to the Savuti area, our next camp. The Savuti area with wide open grassy plains and scattered rocky outcrops is the perfect area for large herds of elephants, zebra and wildebeest and giraffe families, not forgetting the many predators that follow them. Day 10 - Chobe National Park, Chobe River front. We make a last short game drive before heading north through the Mopane and Teak bush from the Chobe Forest Reserve to arrive at the Chobe River where we set up camp. Our time here is spent game viewing along the banks of the Chobe River, the drinking station for large herds of elephants and buffalo. The area has one of the densest animal populations in Africa. Day 11 - Kasane After an early breakfast we head out of the Park to arrive in Kasane for lunch. In the afternoon we join a boat trip on the Chobe river where we come face to face with elephants, hippos, crocs and many other animals. We arrive in camp after sunset and have the opportunity to visit the floodlit waterhole of our campsite. Day 12 - Victoria Falls day trip We cross the border into Zimbabwe where a minibus takes us the last stretch to the world famous Victoria Falls. We visit the colonial Victoria Falls Hotel and visit the falls. After lunch there is time for a visit to the craft markets or for an optional helicopter flight over the falls. Return in camp before sundown. Day 13 - Nata Sanctuary After breakfast we head South to our last camping spot: the Nata Sanctuary, where we make a sundown trip to the pans and a bushwalk in the late afternoon, a perfect moment to explain and see the little things in the bush that are hard to notice from a vehicle. Day 14 - Johannesburg After an early start we head towards the border with South Africa for lunch. In the afternoon we drive back to Johannesburg and arrive in our luxury hotel late afternoon. Relaxing dinner. Day 15 - Soweto and JHB visit After breakfast we board our minibus for a daytrip to the Soweto area, visit museums and Mandela’s house and make a quick visit to the town centre. We are brought to the airport in time for our flight back or to our next destination in JHB. All accommodations shown are examples and actual sites on the tour and are subject may change.
